About the Careerline Tech Center:
Careerline Tech Center (CTC), a technical and career training center serving more than 1,500 high school students, had an established Information Technology (IT) program but found it was lacking key Web components that local industry deemed critical for employee candidates to have mastered. "The CIW curriculum provided the structure, assessment tools and nationally recognized certifications to build our new IT program. This was a natural fit to fill a gap in our course offerings," said Jeanne Steber, Careerline Tech Center Curriculum Associate.

About the Western Governors University:
Western Governors University (WGU), a non-profit online university with more than 10,000 active students, chose CIW exams and courseware for its IT degree programs assessment and content. "We wanted an entry-level exam that would diagnose the basic skill sets in IT. CIW Foundations did that," said Gwen Britton, Information Technology Programs Coordinator at WGU. "We also needed a generic assessment in designing Web sites. For this, the CIW Site Designer exam was a perfect match."

"We needed more students and to offer a more attractive program," Patrick Afchain, Business Development Manager, said. "Each university has a different curriculum they use in their courses. An employer can go onto the CIW Web site and see what the students are truly learning and what skill set they are developing."
