Job Summary

The Web Master is responsible for strategic planning, development, execution, and implementation related to all of a company's websites. They work with the marketing team to devise the strategic direction and are responsible for budget expenditures and staff oversight of the Web Services department. Web Directors plan, organize and lead the web department to meet company standards and strategic goals and ensure consistency with the company's web mission statement.

Responsibilities and Duties

Web Masters utilize their knowledge of web technologies, techniques, and best practices to help position a company's websites for the future. They maintain and develop a competent, productive and quality-conscious workforce. They also develop and implement processes through orientation, training, and education to ensure that the competency of all staff members are assessed, maintained, improved and demonstrated throughout their employment.

They will prepare and control operating budgets and department resources by forecasting future web funding needs of the organization, as well as act as a consultant for the organization for initiatives related to Web development and implementation.

Qualifications and Skills

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent; CIW Associate Certification; Wordpress; Adobe Golive; Microsoft VBScript; Certified ColdFusion MX Developer; Microsoft ASP; Microsoft FrontPage; Macromedia Dreamweaver; Macromedia Flash; CIW Professional Certification; CIW Security Analyst; Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications; [Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform]; [Microsoft Internet Information Services 5.0]; [Soft Skills in Communications]; [Soft Skills in Management]; [Soft Skills in Leadership]
