Adjunct Instructor, Computer Information Technology

Job Summary/Basic Function:

Teach variety of courses in Computer Information Technology such as Computer and Internet Literacy, Fundamentals of Information Technology and Systems, and Introductory Programming.

Minimum Qualifications/ Work Experience:

Combination of work experience in an information technology field and/or teaching information technology courses at the college level (preferably in a community college) totaling three (3) years. Must meet Minimum education requirements, below.

Preferred Qualifications/ Work Experience:

Three (3) to five (5) years' work experience in business and industry in a computer-related job. Three (3) to five (5) years college teaching experience, preferably in a community college setting. Experience with one or more of the following considered a plus: Web Programming, Mobile App Development, Game Design, Software Quality Assurance, Information Security, SQL, Java, C++, C#, JavaScript and PHP.

Minimum Education:

Master's degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely allied field; must include a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field.

Preferred Education (if different from minimum):

Recent education in cutting edge computer technology areas. Practical experience in learner-centered education pedagogy and strategies.

Licenses / Certifications Required:

None required but one or more of the following certifications are a plus including: Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle Database, Oracle Java, Oracle MySQL, ISTQB, CIW, ICCP, and (ISC)2 SSCP.

Yes; classes meet at a variety of times and days.
