The Program Development & Problem-Solving Core Principles certification exam validates foundational knowledge of entrepreneurship, small business concepts, and mobile application development using Thunkable. It measures the ability to connect business and technology skills—covering business planning, customer insights, operations, marketing, finance, and the design, testing, and deployment of mobile apps as entrepreneurial products.

Exam objectives include:

• Data & Computational Thinking: Translate between data representations (characters, numbers, and images); evaluate tradeoffs in data storage and organization; analyze data sets using visualization and computational models to identify patterns, test hypotheses, and support business decisions.

• Mobile Application Development: Design, prototype, and deploy mobile applications using Thunkable. Apply algorithms, control structures, reusable components, and systematic problem decomposition to create and refine apps for performance, usability, and accessibility.

• Collaboration & Development Practices: Work effectively in team environments using version control, collaborative tools, and clear documentation. Apply the software development life cycle, conduct code reviews, and develop troubleshooting strategies.

• Networks, Security & Ethics: Evaluate network scalability, reliability, and security considerations for mobile applications. Explain privacy and ethical concerns related to data collection, automated processes, and computational artifacts.

• Computing Systems & Abstraction: Describe how hardware, system software, and application software interact. Illustrate the role of abstraction in computing systems and embedded technologies.
